St. Thomas and St. Croix Open and Women's 2024 USVI World Chess Olympiad Qualifying Tournaments.
St. Thomas - February 3-4, 2024
St. Croix - February 24-25, 2024
Thank you to all who participated in the St. Thomas tournament. This was a standard classical time control, five-round Swiss tournament. In the female section, the two females with the highest number of raw points were Leah Williams, 1st place, and Neeyma Henderson 2nd place earned a place on the 2024 USVI Women's World Chess Olympiad Team. 3rd place went to Lois Williams.
In the Open section, the winners were:

2023 USVI St. Croix District Championships December 2-3, 2023
Thank you to all who participated in this tournament. This was a standard classical time control, five-round tournament. There was an open section and a women's section. In the St. Croix District Women's Chess Championship First place was Aaliah Heart-Saret, Second place was Vibha Bansal, and third place was Jessica Ann Cana. In the St. Croix District Open Championship, First place was Mighty Funtanilla, Second place to Kimani Knight and Third place was Justin Hair. Congratulations to everyone.
2023 USVI St. Thomas District Championships December 9-10, 2023
Thank you to all who participated in this tournament. This was a standard classical time control, five-round tournament. There was an open section and a women's section. In the St. Thomas District Women's Championship First place was Eve Williams, Second place was Leah Williams and Third was Ruth Laplante. In the St. Thomas District Open Championship First was Darryl Allen, Second place was Abram Williams, and Third place was Ger'Lanni Straun.
Winter Chess Festival St. Croix February 24-25, 2024
FIDE rated five-round Swiss System Tournament. Three rounds to be played on Saturday and two rounds on Sunday. Venue and date to be announced.
Annual US Virgin Islands Chess Federation Scholastic Chess Championship.
Open to all students of the Virgin Islands in grades 1-12.
Annual US Virgin Islands Chess Federation Open Chess Tournament April 13-14, 2024. This tournament is still in the planning stages as priority is being given to the Scholastic Tournament planned for April. A final decision will be made regarding this tournament on March 30, 2024.

Pursuant to Article 2.3.3.1 (i) of the Constitution of the USVI Chess Federation:
The FIDE Olympiad Teams (one open team and one women's team) selected from active USVICF members shall be selected using the following criteria for each team.
a) District Champions from the odd-numbered years, (2) two players St. Croix District: 1 player for the open section and one for the women's: (2) two players. St. Thomas-St. John District: 1 player for the open section and one for the women's
b) Selected by the Board, up to (3) three players for each team; based on:
(i): FIDE ratings of active USVICF members as of January 1st of the odd-numbered years.
(ii): Participation in activities of the USVICF.
(iii): Selection based on the best interest of the team
